The C5 Tourer is the only model in the Citroen range that is offered as an Estate or Station Wagon. The car is not on sale in the US, but is successful in Europe, especially in the fleet market for company cars, where it competes against cars such as the Honda Accord and VW Passat.

The brand has previously been known for producing budget offerings that sold on price, but the Citroen C5 was the start of a new direction for the French manufacturer, who have upped the build quality and styling so they could compete with more premium offerings from the likes of BMW and Mercedes. In fact their advertising for this car stressed the Germanic feel.
