The SW in the title stands for ‘Sport Wagon’, a name which can be a little deceiving as there is nothing inherently sporting about the car, and Station Wagon would perhaps be more apt, but Sport Wagon seems to be the default choice from the French manufacturers when naming their Estate cars.

The 308 SW is based on a lengthened version of the standard Peugeot 308, a Europe only hatchback about the size of a VW Golf or Ford Focus, and as is common with most compact European cars, has a range of small capacity 1.4, 1.6 and 2.0 litre 4 cylinder petrol and diesel engines, with the diesels being the biggest seller.
